I have been told this game is old but i just now picked it up for the gamecube. i love it  sooo much that i juts must tell you all about it. It is the perfect RPG, you can play in real time or turnbase and the story keeps you locked in.

So what are your thoughs on this Must play title? :cute:

Fun? yes. Mustplay? not entirely.

The battle system was the biggest grab of the game, I admit I did get into pointless battles just so I could jump around (I used that setting that let you control everything manualy) but that can only be so fun. Once you get a hang of how to maneuver, time, and use your attacks then no boss/creatures are difficult in the game.

As far as the style of the game went, I'm a personal fan of that cell-shaded feel so i'd like to see more RPGs like that. (only other one I can think of is wild arms 2) but the style doesn't do much to keep me playing.

The characters wern't very interesting, infact, they didnt' even look all that good (lloyd looked like a character from that shitty show Cyborg009) so I wasn't all that psyched about character development. Infact some of the characters just felt flat out useless, for example (forgot everyones name) that kid and his sister were pretty much good for the same thing, the ninja chick was pretty weak first 3/4 of the game, and the only characters you really needed were the ones with really high damage. Infact i'm sure I could have beaten the game with a party of only two people (me and another person to heal)

Far as the story goes, nothing really different than most RPGs, the whole guy/girl relationship thing with a dorky fantasy story-- so nothing special as compared to say the other tales of games.

I play lots of RPGs, and over half of them are just too dull for me to finish. I did stop playing this halfway through the game, but a few months later I did have enough interest to go back and finish it. So, it couldn't be that bad.

He totaly named the tree bob.
